My #ArtExhibition at #OneUtama #KualaLumpur

30 June 2019 is the last day of my one-week Art Exhibition. The event is held from 22 June 2019 to 30 June 2019. OK, I hear you. “Why am I only posting this now?”. Because I was too tied up with work and family.

By the way, I’m so happy how the overall event had turned out. For quite a long time, I have convinced myself that my arts are not good enough for public eyes even after years of practicing. Finally, putting myself up there makes me feel like it’s all worth it.

The truth is anything that I make including my arts, the descriptions, the purchases, and all the decisions that follow through is purely made by my instinct. I appreciate how a certain artist really takes time to make a piece. However, my process of making art is completely different. Every single piece of my art is very instinctive. There no lines or scratches is made. I love fluids and instinctive reactions. It could be the reason I love Chinese calligraphic brush and ink.

Soon, I would like to learn how to scratch before making a piece. I would love to see how it will turn out.

OK, back to the story, I never thought that someone will admire my work or the description I put into every piece of the work I exhibited. It was an overwhelming response when every piece of my art is appreciated. Especially, the appreciation that I got for the description is mind-blowing. This has given me a new belief that education through art is possible and widely available.WhatsApp Image 2019-07-06 at 00.27.30

This group exhibition titled “Women” is organised by Visithra Manikam at #theLedgeGalery #OneUtama #Damansara #KualaLumpur. It has been scheduled for a week starting from 22 June to 30 June 2019. The opening ceremony is held on 22 June 2019 around 11am. There were nine other artists including Visithra were displaying their work. Every one of us has our own style. Portrait, color pencils, batik technique, doodles, imagination, surrealism, and recycled papers.

Most importantly making friends with same-minded people and sharing a passion is really great. Even though we never had the full week to meet each other but the given time is more than enough to make friends. I met some good souls here. Most of us carry full-time jobs while pursuing our passion. I’m still learning to adapt to the art world. Please wish me the best of luck.

Here are some of the artwork from the group exhibition titled “Women”. I personally focused on the woman’s body to educate people that women are more than sexual. Self-expression is strictly prohibited for a woman and this has to change. Many regardless of gender praise me for the art descriptions. It is a bold move they said. I would like to say I want it to be addressed as a common instead of bold. Bold is overcoming the fear. I personally feel a woman should be afraid to put their body in public eyes as an art.

It requires an open-minded person with little courage to look at things from a different perspective. I’ll make another post to cover all my exhibited works and its description of this exhibition.  Stay tuned.

Bubbye for now.
